At the end of 2020, mid pandemic, MetaCorp Management resumed a dynamic growth initiative. Investing in the development and growth of the MetaCorp family of companies and intrinsically investing and believing in its people and the Aruban community.
These investments included the APEX cement bagging plant, a propane gas storage facility to receive gas in bulk shipments, the exciting acquisition of Antillean Soap Company in Curaçao and the ongoing development of this new acquisition and opening the Gloria Complex.
The Gloria Complex was named in honor of our first movie theatre and in celebration of our 100th anniversary as the oldest continuous private enterprise in Aruba.
With great pleasure we welcome Olive Garden @ Gloria, our beautiful new addition to the collection. Many of you may be familiar with this well-known international brand; You will appreciate many new design features not only in the interior and exterior terrace, but also the kitchen is designed and equipped to meet all the established standards. Olive Garden is the leading brand of Darden International, the largest full-service dining company operating 1,800 locations.
Olive Garden @ Gloria was inaugurated on June 21, 2022 and we were honored with the presence of Zach Reams, Learning and Development Partner at Darden International and Roberto Rojas Tejada, Director of Operations - Franchise at Darden International.
Many of our employees and management have attended intensive training at the Darden Training Center in Orlando, Florida to show you the high level of service and delicious food Olive Garden is well known for.
Olive Garden like all other activities at Gloria are owned and operated by MetaCorp through its subsidiary, E. De Veer Chain Theaters N.V. better known as The Movies. This is the enterprise started by Mr. Eddie de Veer’s great grandfather in 1920 and Gloria is the name of the first cinema. E. De Veer Chain Theaters N.V. is the forerunner of MetaCorp.
